The singer’s gown was covered in dazzling gold sequins and also included a slight cowl neckline and large cutouts. Dressed by stylist Nicolas Bru, Shakira’s frock also featured an alluring back cutout, which she paired with Piferi platforms.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” songstress was joined by two special guests on the pink carpet: her two sons Milan and Sasha, who she shares with ex-partner footballer Gerard Piqué.
Shakira received the highest honor at this year’s MTV VMAs: the Video Vanguard Award. Previous winners include Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Pink, Rihanna, Beyoncé and more.

On Tuesday, Donatella Versace took to her Instagram to congratulate the songstress on her music career and her standout Versace look, with part of her caption reading, “You should be so proud of everything you have achieved so far. Every record you’ve smashed and every rule you’ve broken has made you so incredibly unique! Tonight, you’re shining in Versace. I love you so much.”
2023 continues to be a year of big moments for Shakira. In June, she collaborated with fellow Latin artist Manuel Turizo on the single “Copa Vacía,” which music video currently has over 84 million views on YouTube.

To the Billboard Latin Women in Music Awards in May, where the singer was awarded the first-ever Latin Woman of the Year award, Shakira went edgy in a David Koma minidress with a leather strap. The dress was from the brand’s resort 2023 collection.
Since 1984, MTV’s Video Music Awards have celebrated the biggest artists of the year. The 40th VMAs, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, are hosted by Nicki Minaj and feature a brand new category: Show of the Summer. Along with Shakira receiving the coveted Video Vanguard Award, P Diddy is being honored with the Global Icon Award.
