Scarlett Johansson, who has been nominated for the Academy Awards twice, has put to rest an old gossip about her supposed sexual encounter with her Avengers: Infinity War co-star Benicio del Toro inside an elevator. However, she did not mention him by name.
The 37-year-old ex-celebrity shared a story on TheSkimm’s 9 to 5ish podcast, which stayed with her for a long time. She expressed her disbelief at the outrageousness of the story and always thought that it would be tough to go through. She couldn’t fathom how the logistics of such a short period could be so unappealing.
No More Gossip: Scarlett Johansson, who has been nominated twice for an Oscar, recently denied a long-standing rumor that she once had a sexual encounter with her Avengers: Infinity War co-star Benicio del Toro in an elevator.
During TheSkimm’s 9 to 5ish podcast that aired on Tuesday at 9 PM EST, a former celebrity in his late thirties addressed the long-standing rumor involving him and Scarlett Johansson in an elevator at Chateau Marmont. He found it absurd and claimed to be afraid of getting caught doing something he shouldn’t be doing. The rumor originated from an interview with Esquire where the Oscar winner played coy when asked if he had ever had sex with Johansson in an elevator after an awards show. He responded by saying he didn’t know and suggested leaving it to someone’s imagination without promoting it. He added that it might not be the last time something like that happened.
According to Scarlett (pictured on March 16), she always thought that the task would be challenging. The period for completing it was very short, and the logistics seemed unappealing to her. She is afraid of getting caught doing something she’s not supposed to do. Therefore, the story seemed even more ridiculous to her.
Scarlett Johansson, co-founder of The Outset, an eco-conscious skincare company, expressed her surprise at how welcoming the industry has been. She and former beauty/fashion executive Kate Foster Lengyel started the company earlier this year. Johansson was impressed by the transparency, warmth, and inviting nature of the industry, stating that people have a lot of respect for each other and that it’s not as cutthroat as she initially thought.
The calm New Yorker expressed their excitement saying, “I find it very transparent and hospitable, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Besides, people treat each other with great respect. Contrary to what I thought, there isn’t any cutthroat competition at all.”
Starting from April 26, The Outset, a $54 night cream, will be available for purchase at Sephora stores. In addition, the creators of the product will donate 10% of total sales, up to $25K, to aid areas affected by California wildfires this month.
As for Scarlett Johansson, she will soon serve as an executive producer and co-star alongside her Avengers co-star Chris Evans in Jason Bateman’s space race film, Project Artemis, which recently secured a $100M distribution deal with AppleTV+. Furthermore, she reunited with her Lost in Translation co-star Bill Murray for Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, which concluded on November 13.
Scarlett is thrilled! She will produce and act alongside her Avengers colleague Chris Evans in the upcoming space-themed movie Project Artemis, directed by Jason Bateman. The film has managed to secure a distribution deal worth $100 million with AppleTV+.
“Oh, that’s a wrap!” exclaimed Johansson as she reunited with her former Lost in Translation co-star Bill Murray for Wes Anderson’s romantic comedy Asteroid City, which finished filming on November 13th. The film is set in Europe and also stars Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Margot Robbie, Jeff Goldblum, Adrian Brody, Bryan Cranston, Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Wright, Jason Schwartzman, Matt Dillon, Hope Davis, Fisher Stevens, and Maya Hawke.
On a personal note, Johansson has two children – seven-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy Dauriac and eight-month-old son Cosmo Jost – from her marriages to ex-husband #2 Romain Dauriac and current husband Colin Jost. The 39-year-old actress is also serving as co-head writer and Weekend Update co-anchor in the 47th season of Saturday Night Live, which airs every Saturday on NBC.
